Daisy Chains | The World of Beauty

Another big trend this season (apparently anyway) is Opulence. Yes luxurious, magnificent and lavish. Inspired from 18th century French fashions.
But what does this mean I hear you say? Well I was a little confused too. However after some research I discovered Opulence is: luxurious textures such as velvet, lavish lace and magnificent embellishment.
Sounds a bit over the top to me. The items I found in this trend included black tasselled earrings, grey (almost metallic) ‘Marie Antoinette’ era jacket, a red one-shoulder velvet dress and a carpet design for a coat. Combined it looked like a Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen design gone wrong.
Not for me thanks!
