In fact, even the Editor in Chief of Glamour magazine seems to be quite in awe of them. Here's what she said in a recent tweet: "Love these glam Alex Wang shoes bc they add height but are essentially flat...can you see? Here's the link: http://yfrog.com/i3ohvej"
The term "Flatform" was coined by Derek Lam when she noticed these high yet stable design, and the shoes had a name. Of course, these might evoke a negative reaction among the die hard high-heel fanatics, but I think they're super cool nonetheless.
To my delight, these shoes seem to have stolen the show at the spring runways this year. In fact, I'm planning a trip to London next year. If some other design doesn't catch my fancy until then, I'll be sure to get myself a pair of these babies.
